When I was looking through the Cadet Program Promotion Requirements, I noticed that in order to earn your Eaker, you must attend a Cadet Officers School, a RCIS, or a AFIADL-13. The COS will probably be what I will attend, but I was wondering if anyone knows if this event only happens once a year, or if it happens throughout the year randomly. Thanks.

Also, specifically for Texas Wing Members, does the CTEP OTS substitute for it?

COS happens once a year. It is a National Cadet Special Activity (NCSA) and occurs sometime during the summer.

As for your second question, NO. The Texas Wing "Officer School" does not substitute for COS and/or RCLS.

I've heard lots of good things about COS, so I'd be all for attending!

Ok, thanks. That answers a lot of my questions. Smile

If you can't make it to COS though, RCLS (usually in the Dallas TX area for Southwest Region) will count. I've heard good things about that program too.

If by some chance you can't make it to COS or SWR RCLS...I highly recommend the combined PMR/RMR RCLS. Great Experience! It doesn't matter if you aren't from that region.

Is the RCLS like a one-time-a-year thing, or does it happen periodically?

RCLS is a one-per year "thing". Each region should offer RCLS once a year.......

And yes, if you can't make it to SWR, you can always attend another regions school.....

At my first RCLS in MER, I had 2 girls from RMR and at my second, we had cadets from 3 different regions. Capt Greiner being one of those cadets from another region........!

Hope everything works out that you can make COS or RCLS!!!

Let me retry.....

We even had a cadet, Capt Greiner, who represented everybody from the Colorado Border east.....This shows how the diversity of the "cadets" who attend these activities.
