Do everything you can ahead of time, 'cause once it starts, you wont have much time at all.

MAKE SURE YOU ARE RESTED BEFORE IT STARTS, ESP IF YOU ARE ON STAFF. Because by the end, you will be dropping with exaustion. I actually fell asleep one time, standing at attention during an inspection. I don't just mean I snoozed a little, I mean I really was asleep. Sleep

-Work on your physical fitness training. Develop a planned exercise routine to prepare you for encampment.
-Practice your drill and ceremonies work. This will give you an advantage in drill practice, also enabling you to teach others what you know.
-Study your leadership and aerospace materials.
-Make sure you are proficient in your customs and courtesies.
-Make sure you have the required materials and gear

GEAR! PACK YOUR GEAR A FEW DAYS AHEAD OF TIME! It stinks if you show up to an ES school five hours from home and suddenly you think "hmm... where did I put that..." Shocked

Also... and this one is very important... if you've got a conflict with a member of your squadron who's going to be at an event, keep the conflict out of the event. That one set me back six months in CAP.

You may want to take a flashlight. It comes in handy (Especially CTEP) for cleaning your barracks (under the bunks, dark corners, etc.). Helped my barracks to get a 100 at NCOA!
