New Uniforms?????

I heard from somewhere that we were gonna transition over from BDUs to, I believe it was, ABUs, or the ones that the Air Force wear, in 2012 or something like that. I'm not sure if it's true or not, but what are your thoughts about this change, if it truly is happening?

I believe that is what is happening from what I have heard... I am ok with it, but it will cost a lot to transfer.

I know it will be, but it will be pretty cool if they did do it. Then we'd almost be like the Air Force.

Yeah, though they tend to shed us, and are trying to take the title "Auxiliary" away from us...

The addition of ABUs are currently being worked on with the NHQ committee assigned to the project. I won't go into what design ideas they're having, but the guideline the AF wants is for an AF officer to distinguish from 30 feet a real AF officer or a CAP officer.

White lettering on an ABU namestrip would accomplish that and give us a cleaner looking uniform. I'm not a fan of untramarine blue.

Okay CAP most likely won't be changing uniorms for a while. Really look at it this way you know those cadets that never follow regs? Well look how bad they would make the USAF look, so that said I really hope we don't change for awhile.

I asked the National Commander this question at the Texas WIng Conference; she said it was being looked into, but they had not discussed it formally.

I've heard from some top people that it's not likely to change before 2010.

Right now it's all rumor. There is no set date, most people assume this is the logical transition; however, at this point (unless its coming out in a policy letter) it is all rumor and thus subject to much skepticism.

well we always have the bbdi's which is more logical IMHO when the BDU's run out that is.

Jesus Freak i think your rumor is true! I was talking with my friend who's a C/SSgt and apperently this rumor plague is starting to naiton wide from what it sounds like here in the Arizona Wing. Knight
