CAP Relationships
We had a thread about this awhile back when we were still CAP Today. Basically, what is your opinion on boy/girl relationships in the Civil Air Patrol. We know that the regs discourage PDA. Now, then, what do you think about Cadet Balls and activities like that? I know that this is a very controversial subject, so lets state our opinions and our facts, but keep it respectful. |
Re: CAP Relationships
I have avoided CAP relationships as long as I've been a member. That being said, I have also seen it work in numerous circimstances. I have met many a person who eventually married their CAP counterpart.
On the other hand, it has to be very regulated. It can only happen if it does not effect their abbility to work with that person on a professional level. Because of this, I think that they should be placed by their superiors in differant lines of work at the Squadron (or other CAP events.)
Just my $.02

Re: CAP Relationships
I assume you're referencing cadet relationships. I've known several SM married couples, but that's different. They've all maintained a completely professional appearance in uniform though.
As far as cadets go, I wish only older, more mature cadets would even consider dating another member of their own squadron. Younger or less mature cadets' relationships tend to come and go with the wind and can lead to hard feelings and possibly losing members.
If it's kept professional while in uniform, then there should be no issue during dining in/dining out situations. Dancing together would not violate PDA unless the dancing style is inappropriate to begin with.
